After driving past Foxy Loxy everyday on my way to work, I finally had the chance to check it out last Friday. As soon as I walked in the front door, I felt welcomed enough to find a place on the couch, read a book and drink my coffee (if I were a coffee drinker that is).
Granted I didn’t drink any coffee, I did try the special last week, which was the blackened shrimp taco - pretty tasty if I do say so myself. I only bought one, which was enough for me. If you’re really hungry, go ahead and get two, you’ll be full til dinner. Now I know they won’t have that every week, but according to FourSquare they have the best chicken tacos in town and salsa from scratch. After you eat your taco, go ahead and grab some dessert. Even though I was full I still felt like I needed that Wedding Cake Cookie in the dessert case – trust me you’ll need one too.
After ordering my food, I checked out the rest of the café. I really liked the way the rooms were laid out. Each room felt just like a close family member’s place I would be visiting, and could just plop myself anywhere and make myself at home. I love those kinds of places.
If you’re wondering what else Foxy Loxy has to offer, here it is.
- Free wi-fi, a great feature for the college student looking for a quiet place to study.
- They do host a gallery of constantly rotating print work.
- They also offer Acoustic Tuesdays, if you’re interested in finding new music to listen to during the week.
- Pet friendly. They even have some treats for your pets.
- And last but not least, they have an amazing courtyard.
Please visit the Foxy Loxy Café website if you’re interested in checking out more events they offer during the year.
Now is it affordable? Yes. Even the college student can afford to get a good lunch or breakfast at Foxy Loxy Café. Now that I’ve convinced you to eat there for your breakfast, lunch, dinner, dessert, and your coffee break – I hope you enjoy yourself as much as I did.
