A-Town Get Down 2014
Savannah’s most eclectic and diverse music and arts festival is back and bigger than ever! The Fourth Annual A-Town Get Down Music & Art Festival takes place noon to midnight on Saturday, February 22, 2014, at the Charles H. Morris Center in Savannah.
This year’s all-day festival will feature over 25 local and regional live bands and visual artists—each representing diverse music genres and a myriad of artistic styles. Performances include Randall Bramblett, The Lee Boys, Shonna Tucker and Eye Candy, Sol Driven Train, Jon Waits & Co. Niche, Lovely Locks, Greg Williams, Omingnome, Christine Santelli, Annalise Curtin, the Savannah Children’s Preparatory Choir, Savannah Arts Academy Eclipse band and more!
A-Town Get Down festival is also adding workshops and demonstrations including songwriting, ceramics, screen printing, painting and urban art, children's art activities, electronic artists in the Adobe Arts Loft sponsored by Adobe and so much more!
"This is your opportunity to experience live music and art on so many levels,” said Tom Townsend, event organizer. “There's truly nothing else like it in Savannah. You could spend 12 hours hearing accomplished performers across all kinds of musical styles, see and participate in visual art, interact with any number of workshops on creativity, even jam with some great musicians. And it's all ages. Savannah's A-Town Get Down is truly unique."
The A-Town Get Down is a public music and arts festival organized in memory of Alex Townsend, a SCAD student, musician and artist whose life was tragically cut short in an automobile accident on Valentine’s Day in 2010. Alex known as “A-Town” selflessly encouraged the talents of others while continuing to find his own.
The A-Town Get Down is a project of the Alex Townsend Memorial Foundation, a tax-exempt non-profit 501(c)(3) organization. The event raises funds for arts initiatives and arts education. For more information about the event please visitwww.a-towngetdown.com.
