Anon (ymous)
What:
A contemporary adaptation of the epic of Odysseus, Naomi Iizuka’s Anon(ymous) brings this classic to the present by immersing it into the context of modern globalization. Anon(ymous) follows the various adventures of Anon, a young foreign refugee who is separated from his mother during a violent political upheaval in his home country. Iizuka skillfully and poignantly shifts the singular focus of Homer’s original story to focus on the plight of all people who have been uprooted and live marginalized anonymous lives in their new countries. This production features the talents of SCAD freshmen performing arts majors.
