Cemeteries in Savannah, Georgia
The cemeteries of Savannah are well known for their peaceful and history soaked atmosphere. The 100-acre Bonaventure Cemetery is the final resting place for famous Georgians Conrad Aiken, Edward Telfair, Johnny Mercer, and many Confederate soldiers and war heroes. The Colonial Park Cemetery is nestled amongst the sweeping oaks of the Historic District in downtown Savannah. More than 9,000 graves are held at this cemetery included Button Gwinnett, a Georgia signatory on the Declaration of Independence.
